About Smoffy

Hello and welcome to Smoffy!

My name is Melanie Kempinger, and Smoffy is my very own passion project. The name Smoffy is a combination of the names of my dogs: Toffy, Mary, and Sanji. Each of them has accompanied me in their own way, shaped me, and taught me an incredible amount.

Dogs have been living by my side for over ten years, and I grew up with them as a child. My first dog, Toffy, came to me in 2014 – a street dog from Spain rescued by the Poor Paws Foundation. He was my soul dog and the best thing that could have happened to me. Unfortunately, I had to let him go due to a spinal cord tumor, but he changed my life forever.

When I became so ill that I could no longer work, I became even more involved with all kinds of dog-related topics. I made it my mission to ensure that at least my dogs had a good life and lacked nothing. I attended various courses, worked with dog trainers, and gained a wealth of knowledge about nutrition, health, training, and everyday life with dogs.

With Smoffy, I want to share precisely this knowledge. My goal is to offer other dog owners valuable information and tips—things I wish I'd known myself.

Smoffy is still in its early stages, but I'm putting a lot of heart and soul into building this blog - and who knows, maybe one day it will grow into a small shop with special products for our dogs.

Dogs are a central part of my life, and I hope my health will always allow me to live with them.

I'm open to suggestions for topics that might interest you as a reader! Feel free to send me a message or leave a comment anytime. I look forward to the exchange!

If I have misrepresented something or any information is incorrect, please let me know – I am always happy to receive clarification and I like to learn!
