Hand on heart: How long do toys last for you?

How many dog toys have met their demise after the shortest time at your place?

Anyone who knows Smoffy knows that we don't have cautious "just a little nibble and that's it" dogs, but real extreme chewers. That's precisely why I'm critical of dog accessories. Looking nice alone isn't enough for me. It has to withstand everyday life – and not just for a few days, but long-term.

That's exactly why today I want to write about a brand that many dog owners are already familiar with: Vitomalia.

Vitomalia: A brand focused on function and everyday use

Vitomalia positions itself with robust, functional dog accessories and a strong focus on safety, suitability for everyday use, and canine knowledge.

Especially for strong, active, or demanding dogs, this is a point that I find very important. Because in everyday life, what matters in the end is not whether something just looks pretty, but whether it really lasts and is thoughtfully made.

Our genuine long-term test: The bone that simply endures

Before I recommend anything, one thing is particularly important to me: personal experience. And that's exactly what we have.

We ordered the Vitomalia bone on December 27, 2023. Today is March 31, 2026. This means: This toy has been in use with us for over two years and three months.

And the astonishing thing about it: Not a single piece of the bone is missing to this day.

That's the crucial point for me. Not a nice description, not an advertising promise, but what happens in real everyday life.

According to the product description, the Extreme Bone has the following properties:

  • made from robust natural rubber
  • BPA and toxin-free
  • with beef scent
  • designed for strong chewers
  • fillable
  • not dishwasher safe

But quite independently of these specifications, our own experience is what counts most for me. With us, this bone has passed a long-term test where many other toys have long failed.

Sanji with the filled and frozen Vitomalia bone in the long-term test

Here you can see Sanji with the filled and frozen bone in action.

An additional plus: ideal for filling and freezing

What I also find very practical about this bone: It's not only robust but also very suitable for filling. This makes it even more versatile for us in everyday life.

Therefore, we don't just use it as a normal chew toy, but also very gladly for longer-lasting entertainment.

You can fill it with suitable, dog-friendly ingredients and then freeze it. This has a big advantage for us: If the bone is filled and frozen beforehand, Sanji has something to lick for significantly longer.

So it not only provides chewing fun but also pleasant, calm, and long-lasting entertainment. Especially on warmer days, this is also a great way to offer the dog something cool and at the same time exciting.

Why this makes me curious for more

If a chew toy lasts so long with us, it naturally sparks interest in the brand's other products. Because anyone who values durability in toys may also consider safety and practicality for leashes, collars, or harnesses.

That's exactly why I find Vitomalia exciting and will certainly take a closer look at other products in the future.

Transparency for Switzerland: Information on shipping and import costs

Because many of my readers come from Switzerland, I want to address one point very openly:

Additional import costs may apply when shipping to Switzerland.

Vitomalia points out that deliveries to Switzerland are considered imports. In addition to the purchase price, further costs may arise, for example:

  • Swiss VAT
  • processing fees from the delivery service

According to Vitomalia, these fees may be levied upon delivery. For Switzerland, a delivery time of 4–10 working days is also indicated.

Precisely for this reason, I think it's important not to hide this in the blog post. An honest article should not only mention advantages but also clearly address such points.

My conclusion so far

My impression so far is clear: Vitomalia strikes me as a brand that places great importance on robust, functional, and well-thought-out products. The fact that the bone has been in use with us since the end of December 2023 and not a single piece is missing to this day speaks for itself.

For me personally, that is ultimately the most important proof of quality: not grand words, but real everyday experience.

Perhaps you know it too: You buy something hoping that this time it will finally last – and a few days later, the first broken piece is already lying around. That's exactly why I wanted to share this experience with you. Because sometimes true quality is not what is advertised most loudly, but what is still there after years of everyday use.

A small advantage for you
